My passion for music was first sparked by the birthday gift of an unexpected guitar. It was an old rusty instrument on which I taught myself to play. Alongside this need to learn the guitar, came the natural partner of songwriting. Having never performed to anyone but myself, the power of the guitar and the joy it gave me far outweighed any nerves and allowed me to start playing for audiences. This new album will be a big part of my life, both in the songs themselves and in being the next step for me. Influenced by artists from Amy Winehouse to Karen Carpenter (it’s all about the voice for me), Joni Mitchell to Aldous Harding (who is incredible - look her up!), my style is akin to jazz and blues, with a hint of country folk (or so I've been told).
